\u201cHow did I learn how to speak four languages? Well, it was a combination of luck and sheer determination. I was born in Montreal, Quebec, which like many, has blessed me with the gift of bilingualism. On top of that, coming from a family of Italian immigrants, many of my relatives only spoke Italian, which gave me another excellent advantage of picking up a third language from a very young age. The fourth and final language (for now) is Spanish, and I learned this when I decided to move to Madrid in my mid twenties. I went to the country with close to nothing in regard to the language and sought to pick it up by completely immersing myself in my new surroundings and culture. Sure, I often made mistakes. Of course, sometimes people cocked their heads to the side because they couldn\u2019t understand me, but I pushed through, learned from my errors, and realized that I could overcome any obstacle that came my way. \u201c <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>
