For the second year in a row ELAM has launched this week, its annual 12 Days of Donating<\/a> to various community, environmental, and health organizations. Some of these organizations benefit from monthly donations while others are part of our yearly initiative. Our suggestions come from staff and clients, and we all have very valid reasons for choosing our causes.\"\"<\/p>

  1. Mission Bon Acceuil<\/strong> was established in 1892, Welcome Hall Mission is the largest doorway to help Montrealers in need. Many programs are available to support those experiencing homelessness, families, and at-risk mothers and youth. Providing hope through concrete actions and effective solutions. They offer many ways of giving<\/a> and have a long history of helping Montrealers.<\/p><\/li>

  2. La Maison du Partage d\u2019Youville<\/strong> has been our main cause for over 10 years. They contribute to the creation of conditions that favor participation and involvement in the social and professional integration of single people and families in the South-West of Montreal. They also contribute to the creation of a network of mutual aid, a decent quality of life, in all dignity, notably by providing assistance (food, clothing).   3. Founded in 1977, Chez Doris<\/strong> is a day shelter that offers a range of services and programs to meet the most basic and immediate needs of vulnerable women and homeless women. We are the only women\u2019s day shelter in Montr\u00e9al offering 24\/7 service. By providing personal hygiene products, health and mental services, housing placement, and more, we strive to meet their needs in an inclusive and non-judgmental environment.   4. The Foundation’s mission is to provide a complementary source of funding for the CHUM<\/strong>. These funds will work to ensure that the center maintains its status as a standard-setting and internationally recognized institution for medical treatment, teaching, and research. They have awesome campaigns where they match contributions<\/a>!<\/li>
  5. The goal of the NATIVE WOMEN\u2019S SHELTER<\/strong><\/a> is to provide a safe environment where women can begin to rebuild their lives. We offer support and frontline services to First Nations, Inuit, and M\u00e9tis (Aboriginal) women and children to promote their empowerment and independence. The NWSM is the only women\u2019s shelter in Montreal that provides services exclusively to Aboriginal women and their children. Women are offered an up to three-month stay in one of 13 private rooms, many of which can accommodate more than one person so that women may stay with their children.<\/li>
  6. PurNat\u2019<\/strong>s mission is to protect the environment by setting up and operating a cleanup service to dispose of illegal dumpsites. Educate and increase awareness among the general public against various challenges related to the environment such as illegal dumpsites, pollution, and recycling. Their long-term vision has always been to propel PurNat<\/a> in Canada, the United States, and around the world. The seriousness of illegal dumping grounds is pervasive across America and, sadly, across our planet.<\/li>
  7. With more than 30 years of experience in popular science, Les Scientifines’<\/a><\/strong> mission is to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) to girls aged 8 to 17 from underprivileged urban areas to enable the development of various competencies, thus countering school drop-out and poverty among women.<\/li>
  8. For 38 years, the Marie Eve Center<\/a><\/strong> has been offering support to women during pregnancy and the first two years after birth. At the turn of the 1980s, issues surrounding the status of women, including the free management of childbirth and access to work, led a nurse, Agathe Savard, to question the assistance to be provided to women in precarious situations who chose to carry their pregnancy to term.<\/li>
  9. Takis Shelter<\/strong><\/a> is based in Ierapetra, the South of Crete, the rescued dogs and cats have up to 33,000 square meters of private, enclosed olive groves to run around in. With very few people willing to help, there is still an overwhelming number of stray cats and dogs in the South that need rescuing. In the past, dogs have been left tied up, often with their puppies in a box, outside of the shelter. Remember during the holidays, please, #AdoptDontShop<\/li>
  10. Action Against Hunger<\/a><\/strong> is a global humanitarian organization that takes decisive action against the causes and effects of hunger. We save the lives of malnourished children. We ensure everyone can access clean water, food, training, and healthcare. We enable entire communities to be free from hunger. Last year alone, Action Against Hunger served more than 25 million people in nearly 50 countries.<\/li>
  11. Fondation Charles-Bruneau\u2019<\/strong>s<\/a> objective is clear: Cure the 20% of children whose cancer is resistant to treatment and offer children in remission a true cure, free of side effects and complications. How? By making a priority of financing leading-edge research in pediatric hematology and oncology. This is our third year supporting our client Sobeys with this great cause!<\/li>
  12. Plastic Oceans Foundation Canada<\/a><\/strong> was established in 2016 as a non-profit organization and a Registered Canadian Charity. It is part of a global organization with offices in the US (global headquarters, and Los Angeles), Chile, Mexico, and Europe. Plastic Oceans Canada\u2019s mission is to solve plastic pollution. Plastic Oceans Canada creates change by advocating for Canadian businesses to take impactful steps towards eliminating their plastic pollution footprint, driving towards implementation of changes with government, producers, recyclers, and consumers, and supporting and implementing programs to clean our coastlines.
